New Chip Shop, WA14 opens in Hale, Nr Altrincham
Does it get any better than this, a commission to cover the opening of a new local Chip Shop, WA14. The takeaway sits about 100 yards from my house in Hale, Nr Altrincham. The new chippy is the idea of local resident, Andrew Clement who has seen a gap in the market to sell high quality fish and chips from a newly refurbished shop in the centre of Hale. Andrew has worked closely with David Miller, from Millers, the award winning fish and chip from Haxby, Yorkshire. Millers Fish & Chips took the title of Fish and Chip Shop of the Year in the 30th National Fish and Chip Awards, organised by the Seafish Industry Authority. who’s mission is to support a profitable, sustainable and socially responsible future for the seafood industry. Milers beat competition from nine other regions at an awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
David has overseen and assisted with much of the planning and preparation for the new shop passing on his knowledge and skills to Andrew, ensuring the new venture has a great chance of succeeding. The new shop uses only recyclable and biodegradable packaging and cutlery, a real departure from lots of takeaways that still serve food in plastic throw away containers. The fish is sourced from managed stocks and the mushy peas are home made.
