“The Water Rates” a photographic exhibition hosted by Arison Gallery, Chorlton, Manchester by Matt Priestley
I had just shot a corporate portrait job in the centre of Manchester in December and was making my way back to the car through Albert square. It was about 3 in the afternoon and the sun was really bright and low in the sky shining through the fountains. I spent 10 minutes shooting straight into the light and this was the result! Arison Gallery in Chorlton hosted the show. We printed everything to 3ft x 2ft on canvas and I sold enough to cover my costs. The collection of photographs explored energy, light and water. Ps I tried in vain to flog the images to United Utilities, thought they would go nicely in their HQ reception, sadly they weren’t remotely interested!
